Michael Christopher McDowell, born on December 21, 1984, is an American professional stock car racing driver. McDowell competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. He currently drives the No. 34 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Front Row Motorsports but is set to join Spire Motorsports in 2025. McDowell’s racing career began at a very young age, starting with BMX bikes at three years old and kart racing at eight. He won championships in the World Karting Association and International Kart Federation. Transitioning from karts, McDowell competed in open-wheel championships like Formula Renault and the ARCA Series. He debuted in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2007 and the Cup Series in 2008. McDowell has two Cup Series wins: the 2021 Daytona 500 and the 2023 Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. He also owns the GoPro Motorplex karting facility with Justin Marks.
