Drafted first overall by the New York Knicks in 1985, Ewing became the face of the franchise for 15 seasons. An 11-time NBA All-Star, he led the Knicks to 13 playoff appearances, including the 1994 NBA Finals. Ewing also won two Olympic gold medals with the U.S. Men’s basketball team in 1984 and 1992 (as part of the ‘Dream Team’). He was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history in 1996 and inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008. After retiring from playing, Ewing served as an assistant coach for several NBA teams before becoming the head coach of Georgetown University from 2017 to March 2023.
