During his football career, he achieved multiple honors and set NFL records. After retiring from football in 1981, Dryer transitioned to acting, achieving significant recognition for his starring role in the television series “Hunter,” where he played Detective Rick Hunter. The show aired for seven seasons on NBC. Dryer attended Lawndale High School and El Camino College before transferring to San Diego State University, where he continued his football career. He was named First Team All-American in 1968. In the early 1990s, Dryer established his own production company, Fred Dryer Productions. He also hosted his own radio show where he shared his insights on sports.
