In 2001, he moved to Europe and was runner-up in the World 250cc Motocross Championship. Reed then transitioned to the United States in 2002, winning the AMA East Coast Lites Supercross Championship. He has won multiple championships, including the AMA Supercross Championship in 2004 and 2008, and the AMA National Motocross Championship in 2009. Reed holds the record for the most main event starts in AMA Supercross history with 265 starts. He is considered one of the most successful and admired riders in the sport, with a career spanning over two decades. In 2024, he is acting as the Australian Supercross Ambassador. Reed is married to Ellie and has three children.
