Leal began her career with a role in the CBS daytime serial *Guiding Light*. Later, she joined the Broadway company of *Rent*. She is known for her roles in movies such as *Dreamgirls* (2006), *This Christmas* (2007), *Why Did I Get Married?* (2007), *Why Did I Get Married Too?* (2010) and her roles on the television shows *Legacy*, *Guiding Light* and *Boston Public*. Leal has also appeared in various rap and R&B music videos. She has sung in cabaret productions and played teenager ‘Dahlia Creed’ on the daytime soap opera, *Guiding Light*.
