Filoni began his career in animation, working on series such as ‘King of the Hill’ and ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender.’ His work caught the attention of George Lucas, who hired him to oversee the ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ animated series. Filoni served as the supervising director and executive producer for ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars,’ as well as directing the theatrical film of the same name. He also created and executive produced ‘Star Wars Rebels.’ Filoni has been instrumental in shaping the animated side of the Star Wars universe, contributing significantly to the lore and expanding the stories beyond the original films. More recently, he has moved into live-action, serving as an executive producer and director on ‘The Mandalorian,’ ‘The Book of Boba Fett,’ and ‘Ahsoka.’ In November 2023, Filoni was promoted to Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm, solidifying his role in the future of Star Wars storytelling.
