As a teenager, he developed a passion for skateboarding and music. He received his first guitar at 15 and began playing in bands, including The Vacant Andys and The Agency. Prior to Dashboard Confessional’s success, Carrabba worked as a special education teacher. Dashboard Confessional started as a side project and gained significant recognition, winning an MTV2 Award in 2002 for their video ‘Screaming Infidelities.’ Chris Carrabba has also made guest appearances on albums by various artists.
