LaMarcus Nurae Aldridge (born July 19, 1985) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played in the NBA from 2006 to 2022, showcasing his talents with the Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, and Brooklyn Nets. Aldridge was drafted second overall in the 2006 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls, but his rights were immediately traded to Portland. Over his 16-year NBA career, Aldridge earned approximately $217 million in salary. A seven-time NBA All-Star, Aldridge was known for his signature fadeaway jump shot. Before his successful NBA journey, Aldridge played college basketball for two seasons at the University of Texas at Austin, earning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2006. He retired, then returned to the Nets the following season after receiving medical clearance. Aldridge also earned All-NBA honors five times during his career.
