He played college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks, where he was recognized for his outstanding performance, including winning the Ted Hendricks Award. Before his professional career, Clowney attended South Pointe High School. Clowney’s early life was spent in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where he was raised by his mother, Josenna Clowney, and his maternal grandparents. He is known for his remarkable hit on Michigan running back Vincent Smith during the Outback Bowl while playing for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Following his time with the Texans, he played for the Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens before joining the Panthers in 2024.
