Ngata played college football for the University of Oregon Ducks, where he earned consensus All-American honors. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. During his 13-season NFL career, he also played for the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. Ngata is a five-time Pro Bowl selection and won Super Bowl XLVII with the Ravens. He announced his retirement from professional football on March 18, 2019. Beyond football, Ngata has made a significant impact with his wife, Christina, through the Haloti Ngata Foundation, which focuses on supporting at-risk youth, gang prevention, and providing college-preparation resources.
