He passed the New York State Bar exam in 2007 and worked for Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. He also served as a visiting professor at Brooklyn Law School. Currently, he is a professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, teaching courses in corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and torts. In 2011, he was nominated by President Barack Obama as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. He is married to Adrienne Korsmo and has two children.
