David Bruce Cassidy (1950-2017) was an American actor and singer, best known for his role as Keith Partridge in the 1970s musical sitcom “The Partridge Family.” This role propelled him to teen idol status, making him a superstar pop singer during that era. Born in New York City to actor Jack Cassidy and actress Evelyn Ward, he was surrounded by show business from a young age. He achieved significant success as a solo artist, releasing several hit albums. Later in his career, he had a successful run in Las Vegas and continued to make stage appearances. Cassidy shared his life experiences in his 2007 autobiography, “Could It Be Forever? My Story”. Despite his success, Cassidy faced financial and legal problems later in life, and he filed for bankruptcy in 2015. He passed away on November 21, 2017, at the age of 67.
