After stepping back from the limelight, Rippy pursued higher education, graduating from California State University, Dominguez Hills, with a degree in marketing. He founded his own marketing firm, Ripped Marketing Group, in 2000, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit. In 2013, Rippy ventured into politics, running for mayor of Compton, California, though he was eliminated in the primary. Rippy has been involved in charitable activities and has also worked at KABC-TV in Los Angeles, California.
