Mitchell James Richmond III, born on June 30, 1965, is an American former professional basketball player. A shooting guard, he played collegiately at Moberly Area Community College and Kansas State University before being drafted into the NBA. Richmond was a six-time NBA All-Star, a five-time All-NBA Team member, and won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 1989. He was a key player in Don Nelson’s ‘Run TMC’ offense with the Golden State Warriors alongside Tim Hardaway and Chris Mullin.
Richmond played for the Sacramento Kings from 1991 to 1998, where he became a Western Conference All-Star fixture and earned All-Star Game MVP honors in 1995. He won an Olympic gold medal with Dream Team III in 1996. Known for his pure shooting ability, Richmond was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014. He played 14 years in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers, even winning a championship with the Lakers in 2002.
