Sir Ronald “Ron” Dennis CBE (born 1 June 1947) is a British businessman and motorsport executive. He is known for his long and successful career in Formula One racing, primarily with McLaren. From 1981 to 2009, Dennis served as team principal, CEO, and co-owner of McLaren in Formula One, during which the team won seven World Constructors’ Championship titles. He also founded McLaren Automotive in 2010. Dennis began his career as a mechanic, progressing to team management with Rondel Racing and Project Four Racing before taking over McLaren in 1980. Under his leadership, McLaren became a dominant force in Formula One, achieving numerous victories with legendary drivers. Beyond motorsport, Dennis has been involved in various business ventures, including co-founding Absolute Taste. He was also a business ambassador for the UK Government and an advisor for Minsheng Investment. He was awarded a Knighthood in the 2023 New Year’s Honours List for his services to industry and to charity. Since selling his shareholding in the McLaren Technology Group in 2017, Dennis has focused on mentoring young people and philanthropic activities.
