He is the frontman of the alternative rock band Third Eye Blind, formed in 1993. Jenkins began his music career in the early 1990s. He formed Third Eye Blind with guitarist Kevin Cadogan and signed with Elektra Records in 1996. He has written or co-written every song on the band’s albums. Jenkins won two California Music Awards for Best Songwriter and was nominated three times for Best Vocalist, winning Artist of the Year.
